Discovery cancels Palin “nature documentary,” instead buys season of Walk The Talk Show with Waylon Lewis for $1 million/episode. {April Fool’s edition}

While we’re not quite getting paid what Sarah Palin was getting ($1 Million per episode), apparently all the flack Discovery got about using with the world’s most famous drill-baby-drill, shoot wolves from a plane celebrity (we can’t quite call her a politician) convinced Discovery execs that they were not only turning off their demographic, but doing Mother Nature itself an injustice.

We didn’t want to let the cat out of the bag, but my agent has been working on Discovery for over a year (I was featured on and met with Discovery’s Planet Green last year, as some of you may remember)—and they’ve finally bought a dozen episodes of my affordable, fun yet fundamentally serious, irreverent and occasionally hard-hitting Walk the Talk Show featuring some of the greatest aspirational and green figures today—Jon Stewart, George Clooney, Edward Norton, Adrian Grenier, Dr. Andrew Weil, Whole Foods’ John Mackey, Dr. Deepak Chopra, Paul Hawken, Amory Lovins, former Presidents Clinton and Carter, Sir Richard Branson, Lance Armstrong, Robert Redford, Al Gore, Lauren Bush, Rev Desmond Tutu, Alice Waters and Chef Ann Cooper, Jamie Oliver and Michael Pollan, singers Moby and Edward Sharpe—all have already signed on to appear, free, on the show this season.
