Book review: Awakening Kindness (Nawang Khechog)

This debut book of teaching from Tibetan flutist Nawang Khechog is a warmly written, straightforward teaching on developing kindness and compassion in our lives.

Best known for his beautiful work with the flute, Khechog readily demonstrates that he is as talented a teacher as he is a musician. Filled with personal stories and inspiring profiles as well as instructions for meditations and even Tibetan poems, Awakening Kindness reaches beyond the boundaries of Buddhism to offer something for anyone interested in opening their hearts and spirits to developing greater kindness and compassion in their lives.

From Beyond Words/Atria Books and available from your local, independent bookseller. (Shop local, shop independent, and tell ‘em you saw it on Elephant Journal!)

NOTE: Nawang Khechog will be appearing at the Boulder Bookstore on Wednesday, February 17 at 7:30 to perform, and discuss and sign copies of Awakening Kindness.
