The Blessing Remains. ~ Edith Lazenby

I want to hand you the light,

That lives in my heart

Because when yours beats

Mine listens: your flutter

Is butterfly wings in my ears,

Your breath is wind on my lashes,

Your smile tickles my eyes,

And the touch of your hand

In mine holds me when I cannot

Hold you, comforts me when

I cannot see you, eases my grief

Into a space that lulls the tears

Into a place that blesses

What hurts when I can no longer

Feel and gives me courage

To face truths that lie

And lies that hold truth

Because I know life cannot steal

What death cannot take

For better or worse

The blessing remains.
