Episode 2: Breath & Desire in Yoga Class. {Adult}

 Warning: naughty language ahead!

Yoga Sutra 1.2: Yoga is the control of the gross and subtle thought patterns of the mind field.

Read the first in this series: Episode 1: Kissing Asana & Breaking Hearts. {Adult}

Nadia parked her car in the alleyway behind the yoga studio and walked nonchalantly through the back door. She thought to herself, “calm down, it’s just a guy.”

Nadia always arrived to her yoga classes 15 minutes early.

She walked into the studio, which smelled subtly of incense and ammonia…tales of journeys to India and hard journeys on the mat. The teacher fiddled with her iPod over in the corner, undoubtedly reviewing her playlist full of Ravi Shankar and Krishna Das.

Nadia padded softly across the floor and set up her yoga mat and water bottle in the front row. She wanted to make sure Devi saw her; she had worked so hard on her practice and her body. It was time to impress him. She crossed her knees over one another and sat in a still and quiet lotus, contemplating and waiting for the rest of the class to arrive.

Her eyes opened suddenly when she heard the teacher’s voice.

“So everyone move onto your hands and knees. Let’s begin to flow our way into cat and cow pose, and feel free to move the hips in any direction you feel is good for you.”

Oh no. In the middle of her pre-yoga meditation, Nadia had missed Devi’s entrance. She didn’t even know where he was in the room right now. She couldn’t possibly flip her head around to see where he was…that would be too obvious.

And then the yoga teacher: “Now let’s gently push our way back into the first downward facing dog of the day.”

Now was her chance to see where Devi was. She undulated her spine toward the back of the room one vertebrae at a time. She pushed her tailbone back slowly, lifted her hips, raised her ass to the sky. And then the drishti—not to the belly button as was the usual, but rather scanning the room for shaggy blonde hair and tan, toned arms and legs. She gazed in between her legs directly behind her.

And her breath was immediately interrupted. No, it was taken away. Devi was directly behind her.

She could not take her eyes off of him. He was more chiseled and more focused than he ever had been before. The tattoo of the sun on his upper back, in between his strong, powerful shoulders, was gorgeous and bright. The dimples on either side of his lower back were Nadia’s weak spot.

“Now let’s flow into a low plank, Chaturunga.”

Devi’s beautiful, blue eyes floated to the front of the room. Nadia saw them make a beeline for her now throbbing secret spot.

She averted her glance and popped into Chaturunga quickly, avoiding eye contact with Devi.

This would prove to be one of the hardest yoga classes she had ever been to.
