Think Twice Before Clicking Like. ~ Kim Haas

Photo: Screenshot from video

I have a good friend who is completely off the social media grid.

No Facebook.

No Twitter.

No Pinterest or Tumblr or SnapChat.

She may occasionally respond to an email.

She will text.

That’s it.

She and her family don’t even use those grocery store reward cards because they don’t want their information being gathered.

I thought they were being paranoid. After watching this video, I’m not so sure.

Maybe I’m not being paranoid enough.

Apparently, all those Facebook “Likes” reveal more than just our preferences for certain products, people or services. The people gathering and selling the information can use our likes to detect patterns of behavior that reveal more about ourselves than we ever thought possible.

Perhaps more than we are comfortable revealing.

Watch and prepare to be disturbed.

It’s made me think twice before clicking that Like button.
