From our comfortable vantage point in the United States, what goes on inside Iran can often be a mystery.

We might only think of it when it makes the news, in which case, it’s likely not good news. It’s easy to let the borders of the Middle East blur in our minds and forget the vast array of cultures and peoples who live in that region which we have somewhat arbitrarily lumped together with terms like the “Islamic world” and so on.

Well, I’m not going to change all that with one little blog. But this video gives us an inspiring and enlightening glimpse into the history of Iran. With just one woman, some make up, and some awesome hair styles, the folks at cut.com are challenging assumptions about women in the Middle East.
