Beyoncé Launches Vegan Meal Delivery Service.

“If I can do it, anyone can.” ~ Beyoncé, on going vegan for 22 days.

Beyoncé is launching a vegan meal delivery service with her trainer Marcos Borges.

The meal delivery claims to be is 100% organic, 100% plant-based, gluten-free, soy-free and dairy-free. The meals range in price from $9.76 to $16.50, and are delivered fresh, never frozen, to your doorstep.

Personally, I’m not a vegan. But I work with several vegetarians and my boss is a vegan. I tried going vegan for three months once, but didn’t have the right tools to keep me on track—not a great excuse, but it’s the truth.

That said, I’m eating less and less meat these days. The more I learn about animal cruelty, factory farming and the environmental impact of meat production, the more I’m drawn to the vegan lifestyle.

I think it’s great that Beyoncé is repositioning the vegan diet in a positive way and making more convenient for people to try. However, her vegan meal plan doesn’t focus much on the ethical side of the vegan diet. It focuses more on the health and weight loss aspects of the diet.

Here’s what people are saying about Beyoncé’s vegan mission:

“Every successful movement needs its celebrity mouthpieces, and if tweens are looking up to celebrities who are spreading a message of kindness toward animals, who am I to complain?”

“It’d be nice if some celebrities went vegan for ethical reasons, but most of them just jump on it as if it’s some kind of fad diet.”

“I just watched a segment on the PIX11 morning TV news show in NYC where they talked about her vegan delivery service, and in a positive light, I might add. The word vegan was used at least 10 times, also heard the phrase ‘if you want to look like Beyoncé eat a vegan diet.’ Dumb? Yes. Still a good thing? Definitely. Made my day.”

Beyoncé might not be perfect, but her vegan initiative is a start. She’s putting her time and money into something important and that’s worth celebrating.
