Stepping toward Authenticity: Sharing ourselves wholly & completely.

Look closely. Can you see two faces in the wall behind us?

Can you see at least two sides to every situation? Do you have a game face or do you wear your heart on your sleeve?

If we hold our emotions inside they often come out in little ticks, involuntary facial expressions and gestures. The body doesn’t lie.

If we open your heart for the world to see, there’s nothing left to hide and the truth really does set us free.

One of the things that I love about Kerri is her raw, open, emotional truthfulness. You always know exactly where you stand with her and exactly what she’s feeling. Kerri is fierce and unafraid to tell it like it is. No game face, no hidden agenda, just the pure simple truth, for better or worse.

Sharing ourselves and our truth is a bold step toward being authentic. Have no fear. Your light will shine.

Today’s #YogiAssignment is to drop your game face. What are you afraid of? Do you think there is something inside of you that is so dark and twisted that you’ll be rejected? Do you think you’ve done something so wrong that you won’t be forgiven?

There are no perfect people in the world. Sharing ourselves wholly and completely, the good and the bad, gives us the confidence and the courage to believe that we—with all our flaws and imperfections, exactly as we are—are worthy of love.

Even if there’s only one person that you can be totally yourself around, that’s all it takes. It’s the starting point of authenticity.

It is through sharing ourselves that we see who we really are.
