Don’t Be a Slacktivist: Take action & Join Us in Global Meditation.

It’s time for us to do something more than just changing our profile pictures to flags.

We are all guilty of being slacktivists, sitting behind our safe computer screens and moaning about the state of the world. I’m aware, because I did it all day on Sunday. I’m not judging or criticizing; I’m just stating.

We sit in safety, feeling the pain of the world. We write. We cry.

I hear it all the time: “I wish I could do something.” “I wish I could do more to help the world.”

Well, we can take action. We can do more. Here is a simple event to join in from anywhere in the world this Friday PST, details below. There is a time clock to figure out what time it is wherever you are:

Life Warriors Global Meditation for Peace.

We can collectively join together in this global meditation event to put good out into the world. We can collectively send out healing, peace and love to counteract the abundance of hate and intolerance flying around right now.

All that is required of anyone to join is time and concentration.

Mediation is powerful. Science has tested and proven the power and benefits of meditation on the brain. Through meditation I have personally achieved states of mind and being—states of such pure calm, serene bliss—that I never believed were possible.

Meditation has helped me with my self-love and self-acceptance. It has helped me find maitri and compassion for myself and for others.

Where I used to be intolerant, I have found a well of tolerance.

Where I used to be harsh and judgmental I have found a well of love, compassion and understanding.

As an empath, I am no longer overwhelmed by the world around me, thanks to a meditation practice.

If meditation can do so much for the individual, imagine what it can do for the world when we join together collectively, setting the same intention for peace, love and healing.

Perhaps it’s time we stop trying to fight fire with fire. Obviously force against force isn’t working. I am not saying military action doesn’t have it’s place; unfortunately it does, and it is necessary. But we can’t all fly over to Syria and jump into hand-to-hand combat with ISIS, can we?

But, we can do this.

We can join together and take this small individual action to collectively take a stand against the hate and intolerance breeding in the world today.

The world needs more unity and love despite borders and religions. When we fight with and hate each other, we are giving victory to the very enemy we are supposed to be fighting. With those actions, we let them win.

Let us all pause for a time this Friday between eight p.m. and 11 p.m. Pacific Standard Time and take part in this global meditation.

I leave you with the words of John Lennon:

“You may say that I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.
I hope someday you will join us, and the world can live as one.”
