It’s time for us to Let Go of our Body Hatred.

Today was rough emotionally. Old demons started circling—the ones that tell me I’m fat, weak, ugly, unlovable and nothing I do will ever change that.

I know those voices well because I believed them for many years and followed them into the darkness of depression, anxiety, panic and eating disorders.

But I know the truth of who I am now and nothing will ever shake my faith again.

Don’t listen to those voices that say you’re not good enough, that you need to change what you look like. Don’t listen to the voices that speak lies of doubt, self-loathing and self-rejection to you.

Be strong enough to believe in your greatness, to accept yourself for who you are. Be strong to make peace with your body, to love yourself as you are.

You know, I almost didn’t post this photo because of the cellulite on my leg. I used to stare at the mirror as a child and wish my legs were longer, leaner, and free from the little dimples that have been there my whole life.

But really, it’s time for us all to let go of our body hatred, our insane quest for the bodies we see in magazines and just love our bodies for the blessing and gift that they are, complete with all our perfect imperfections.

So then I thought, there is no more perfect video to share than this one, cellulite and all.
