“There’s this cool moment in the morning where you almost don’t know who you are. Before you’ve had coffee, before you’ve thought about all your to-do lists, you just exist in the present moment. Almost like you’re a child again. And that’s a beautiful thing you can protect.” ~ Waylon on his morning routine.
Find a middle path with your phone:
>> Keep it more than seven feet away from ourselves at night, and don’t use it in bed.
>> Use airplane mode.
>> View it as a lovely addition to our lives (that nourishes us, helps us make connections), not an addiction or need. Once we find ourselves mindlessly scrolling, put it down.
>> Leave the phone behind sometimes—when you’re going for a walk or for lunch.
>> Treat it like a tool; only use it when you need to (for work, for fun).
Favorite viewer comment from Jeremy Marion: “Social media is about more than selfies and food pics. Share knowledge, not vanity!”
As Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche says, this is your life. Look at it.
