We all like to be acknowledged on our birthday.

No matter what zodiac sign we were born under, our birthday is a special celebration of our life and the qualities that make us unique.

So, if today is your birthday or if you know of someone born at this time, why not let them know how much you appreciate them?

At this is the time of the year, we honor the birth sign Libra. It is the seventh sign of the zodiac.

Libras are born between September 23rd and October 22nd. There are so many reasons to love a Libra, but here are some of the best ones.

1. They are charming and lovely and they love to flirt.

There is something charismatic and engaging about Libras. They have such grace and style and are often quite beautiful or handsome. No wonder they attract so many admirers. They love to get dressed up and mingle anywhere they can meet new and interesting people. Because beauty is important to them, they have a strong need to attract partners and friends who are also physically attractive. Some would say that’s superficial. Oh, well. 

2. They love to party, socialize and enjoy the arts.

Libras tend to be marvelous conversationalists with diverse interests. They can enjoy activities as diverse as the theatre, an art show, decorating, attending a poetry reading or making the scene at an all night party at the trendiest club. They have a need to find new and exciting social venues where the most interesting people hang out.

3. They always want to be a part of things and will rarely say no to us.

Because Libras are social creatures who never want to miss out on the coolest event or most major happening in town they often don’t commit to plans until the last minute. When we contact them about a special event we want them to attend, they are quick to say “yes, I’ll be there,” (even if they don’t show up). They are always in the know about the hippest social scene. That’s where you’ll find them.

4. They love beautiful things.

That may sound a bit superficial, but what’s not to love about the finer things in life? Libras are often attracted to partners who are elegant, wealthy and have a refined aesthetic sense. They genuinely love all that is beautiful whether it’s a painting hanging in the Louvre or a Chanel dress ensemble or you—if you’re gorgeous.

5. They are made for partnership and love being in a relationship.

Libras are romantic idealists who are on a perpetual quest to find the right companion to share their life. They want to enchant, charm and dazzle you, and they will often lose interest once they have accomplished that feat. Because they are so lovable though, even a former lover can remain an admirer and friend. Eventually serial affairs become boring and Libras become drawn to a permanent relationship. They look for the perfect company to enhance their image. Once they find the right kind of person, they are loyal, committed and can become the ideal partner.

6. They are sensuous.

Seduction is high art to a Libra and they prefer romance to raw sex. After all, they are too refined to just to have a “quickie.” In fact, they tend to be more in love with the idea of sex than the act of sex itself. Libras love everything that appeals to their senses whether it’s fragrant perfume (or cologne), sweet smelling flowers, rich-tasting chocolate or soothing music. All these sensory enhancements put them in a passionate and romantic mood.

7. They dislike conflict and want to please everyone.

Their emotional wellbeing often depends on the approval of others, which can make them rather indecisive and turn them into “pleasers,” who subordinate their needs to others. They will vacillate on both sides of any question. However, in a debate when someone takes a firm position one way, they will often take the contrary view just the sake of fairly presenting the opposite side of the argument. Yet, they will do so without being unpleasant or argumentative. You say tomato—they say tomato.

8. They are fair-minded and believe in justice.

Libras love to debate and have the unique capacity to see the truth of any situation from all sides. They can be your best friend and listen with objectivity. But if they think you are wrong they will argue until they have convinced you to their point of view.

9. They love to talk psychology and are psychologically complex.

On one hand they perpetually seek a relationship, on another they desperately need their independence and space if someone becomes too close. They alternate between wanting social engagement and being upset if too much closeness restricts their freedom. Libras often vacillate from one extreme to another.

For them, love relationships are either exciting or a source of conflict. While they hate conflict, they seem to draw it into their daily lives. Yet they have an uncanny ability to communicate well, talk things out and diplomatically resolve differences with the people in their life.

10. They have a deep dark secret we can all relate to.

We are touched by their secret: feeling lonely and needing love, because at different times in our lives, we have all felt that way too. But loneliness and the need for a love relationship sometimes drives many Libras to desperately seek out superficial romances that will never satisfy their intimate needs. In extreme cases, their desperation to find a relationship can result in promiscuity. Fortunately, most Libras grow and mature from their experiences, and discover which relationships are likely to be healthy and loving for them.
