A Gentle Reminder for the Weary.

Take rest, friend.

The world is moving so quickly, and you’ll always be moving with it.
You are flowing in a stream that was never under your control.
Your exhaustion stems from pushing the river, trying to make it go faster,
All the while, you’re slowing it down by trying to manipulate it.

The best thing you can do is to surrender to the flow.
Yes, there will be times you’ll need to step up—
Be well rested for these moments.
Don’t lose your energy on meaningless fights that you cannot win,
And when the moment comes, you’ll rise to a new level you didn’t know existed.

Good things lie ahead, friend.
But let the moment be complete as it is—
With the impatience, with the resistance, with the pain.

Nothing is under control.
Let go of the notion it should be.
Yes, that’s scary.

And, so liberating.
