A Marriage Mantra.

We settle the lighting and look for an appropriate angle for the camera to take beautiful pictures.

To preserve memories.

We need to do something similar for marriages and relationships, too. To create “us” time.

Preferably daily. Thirty minutes minimum.

Free of distractions, expressing, and listening to emotions. Verbal and physical. Looking in the eyes.

Throw in a long drive or a romantic setting once in a while—a “treat.”

Get a babysitter or ask a friend to watch the kids.

If you don’t do it now, 10 years from now, you will have nothing to share.

Besides resentment, squabbles.

Kids will be gone. And there will a vast expanse of silence between you two.

The relationship or marriage will disintegrate.

Like for the camera setting, we ourselves have to create the moments of memories that we can reflect back on fondly.

Marriage and relationships are daily efforts.

Don’t ever take it for granted.
