To all the Women who live Wild, Fierce & Without Apology.

If I could, I would tap my wild fingers on this worn-out laptop—bleed out on the keys to tell the little girl I was, and still am, that everything will be okay.

The world is a scary and unpredictable place, but worth every breath you are privileged to take. I wish I could wrestle your demons, but suffering is necessary to build resilience.

Always remember that after a dark night of the soul, the birds will chirp again. Have patience. Tears wash away, even if your eyes are puffy.

Your safety will be rocked down the road less traveled. Don’t turn around. Stay in the fight, and forgive—even when you think you can’t.

It’s okay stop and rest. Try to sleep because signposts come alive in dreams. Ask for guidance. The un-blazed trail forces creative solutions. Use your imagination. See hope outside of the box saying who you should be.

The cage is comfortable, but our possibility grows with mystery.

The door is wide open. Close criticality. Open curiosity. Just jump.

Your freedom will require risk. Hold tight to grace, because you will fall. Humor is a “tourniquet” for a wounded ego.

Laugh hard, often, and without apology. Expect a messy landing. Imperfection is timeless and beautiful.

After sleepless nights, wake up and smile—just because you woke up again. Stretch into sacred spaces where darkness meets the light, one more time.

Rise. Even when you think it’s impossible.

If you get lost, put hands on your belly. Feel the beat.

Vulnerability is never weak, but learn to set boundaries. If your tender heart stays open too long, the fire will dim.

Retreat to the woods, where animals know your name. The breeze brushes across your face saying, “remember who you are.”

Never completely harden for the sake of protection—a functioning heart valve opens and closes.

Learn from mistakes. Mountain tops are majestic so enjoy the respite, but don’t stay. You will get bored.

Be with the people—especially at the bottom. Challenge your comfort zone. It will never be easy. Easy is not what you’re born for.

It’s okay to be afraid because fear is a trustworthy coach. It’s the one that makes you fight with no gear or padding because learning is accelerated with something on the line.

Listen more than you speak. People are busy, and full of small talk.

Go home, to where you meet her again—in a rainstorm, wrapped in a cozy blanket, tiny buds coming back to life, the monotonous drip you probably need to fix.

Never lose the girl with wild eyes. Go find her. Catch raindrops on your tongue, and always do the hokeypokey in sprinklers. Climb high in trees. Swing with untamed hair because you believe you can fly.

Time will create possibilities. Follow the yellow brick road of questions. When you are lost, look up. The stars are a map. Give thanks to the moon.

Perfection is the enemy of greatness. Your weapon is realness, a bridge to connection. Try not to scratch your Achilles heel—it will itch, every day. Trust kindness is stronger than hatred, especially toward yourself.

Choose to be kind.

Hades will call you to the Underworld. Do not lose faith. Your light needs darkness as a backdrop to shine. Somewhere over a black and white rainbow, you will find integration.

Change is inevitable.

Sit down on the train between here and there. Take a big, deep inhale. You are exactly where you need to be.

“When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.”

You are the teacher and the student. You are ready. Live wild, fierce, and without apology, because you are the only one for the job.

And the world needs her to stay ready.

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything.”

~ Rainer Maria Rilke
