Destiny’s Gift

Our children are ours only till they remain children.

They are the responsibility bestowed upon us, a debt that we owe to society which we pay back by raising responsible citizens.

Their endearing smiles, the wholesome hugs, and an unquestioned trust in our wisdom are the rewards for our selfless devotion as parents.

Our worlds revolve around them and sometimes we lose ourselves in the efforts of parenting.

But the adults that they become have a responsibilities and challenges. To expect them to be as readily available as we were to them, would be unfair, especially in their young age when they are embarking on new careers and relationships.

Give them time to settle down and become confident in their roles in society and comfortable in their skin.
If educated about the basic human duty of ‘give and take’, they will be there when needed.

Meanwhile, be prepared to be judged by them for your actions or inactions. They now would look at you with ‘adult’ eyes.
The starry eyed child whose world revolved around you has grown.

But then this is what growing up is. What we prepared them for. The constant thing in life is change.
Isn’t it?
