Dear Empaths, your Mission is not your Burden.

This is a letter to all the empaths and mediators out there, struggling with the mission of how to make people happy.

You don’t have to.

A lot of people might have already heard of both empaths and mediators but only a few understand who they are really.

An empath is not necessarily someone who is overly sensitive, nor needy. It is usually someone who is protective of selected people, but too little of themselves. It is someone who goes the extra mile to make you happy. And they don’t do it just for anybody, but for you—because your happiness genuinely matters to them.

An empath will take on others’ emotions so if another feels sad, they will start feeling sad too. Vibes matter to them, a lot. If there are negative vibes, they get anxious and feel burdened.

People turn to empaths for advice and share their deepest feelings and fears that can leave the empaths drained if they feel not heard when they themselves need support.

Mediators are something different, yet quite similar. They are always looking for the hint of good in people and events and are always on the mission to make things better.

It is both a burden and a blessing to be one or another.

So here is something for you, dear empaths and mediators:

You are much braver than you think you are. You have far more determination inside you than you dare to believe. To be brave and strong is to embrace the unknown and run toward fear. It’s the unknown that scares us. But we are bigger than our fears.

The biggest fear of every empath is to lose people. Think of all the times in your life where you thought you couldn’t live without a person or a thing. But you did—a little wiser, a little braver, and with a few more stories to tell. It all worked out in the end. Life throws us curve balls to make sure we are strong enough to survive anything.

So find that strength inside you and redirect it. Thinking of others is always nice, but you don’t have to prove yourself to anyone. You don’t need other people’s validation.

As they say, “Be a good person but don’t waste your time to prove it.”

Guard your energy and time for those who would do the same for you.
