I know I’ve grown because I no longer see love
As encompassing
A cure-all solution
To an aching heart, a troubled past, problematic conditioning,
and as something to fill the void, to fill the space
I’ve learned to depend on myself
To seek from within
A power, a force, a kind of love
That does not waver
the kind which cannot be taken away
but the kind that grows and evolves
and when given away,
you receive it a hundredfold
the kind that does not ask for anything in return
but is returned anyway
a kind that is peaceful
long-standing
the kind of love
you find within
