John Legend & Stevie Wonder’s Epic Cover of “Lean On Me” Made me Cry.

I don’t know about anyone else, but music has been getting me through 2020.

From at-home performances by the Foo Fighters, Norah Jones, The Backstreet Boys, and even Meryl Streep, to endless repeats of playlists sent to me by friends, music has been a sanity-saver during these times.

As if we haven’t suffered enough loss this year, Bill Withers, known best for his major hits “Lean On Me” and “Ain’t No Sunshine,” passed away in March from heart complications.

For all these reasons, I was heartened to find this video of John Legend, Stevie Wonder, and Bill Withers performing “Lean On Me.” It’s from the 2015 ceremony of Bill Withers’ induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

It’s damn good, beautiful, and everything I needed to lift my spirits today:
