What an inspiring message to see (in a year that has been pretty bleak)!

The above image is from Elliot’s (formerly Ellen Page) Instagram page, and it damn near brought me to tears. He touches on some pretty poignant issues that apply to us all: self-love, self-loathing, fear of rejection, and pursuing our authentic selves.

But I think the last part of his message is what needs to take center stage:

“To all trans people who deal with harassment, self-loathing, abuse and the thread of violence every day: I see you, I love you and I will do everything I can to change this world for the better.”

I echo this statement; I am humbled by his bravery; I am hopeful about the growth and love we will continue toward. No one should ever feel ashamed of who they are. No one should feel like they have to hide.

So, I say f*ck yes to this message—I am a huge fan, Elliot!
