When I raise my voice
Some say I’m too loud
Some say they they’re disappointed
That the things I say are
Violent
Intolerant
I am very tolerant
Just not towards intolerance.
I am very patient
Just not with ignorance.
My voice is one that has been silenced for too long
And I won’t let it be quiet for another generation
My voice is not about being right
or making you wrong.
My voice wants to raise awareness.
make the unseen seen
the unheard heard.
My voice speaks for those
who are hushed more
Who can’t be heard
who are violently silenced.
My voice is not a weapon.
My voice is
love.
