Miley Cyrus & Metallica performing “Nothing Else Matters” is Everything we need Right Now.

Some songs just never get old—and Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters” is one of these songs.

This year, Metallica celebrates the 30th anniversary of their legendary “Black Album.”

When they started as a heavy metal band in the 80s, nobody expected them to become one of the most influential rock bands of all time.

At “The Howard Stern Show,” lead singer James Hetfield tells how he was scared to show this emotional song to his band members after writing it. He felt that it was too vulnerable, but to his surprise, drummer Lars Ulrich immediately saw the potential of this powerful song.

Hetfield describes the process of writing, sharing, and recording this song as a life-changing moment. It is a beautiful example of how overcoming our fear of vulnerability can make a difference.

30 years later, the band invited Miley Cyrus to perform this milestone of modern rock music with them. And just before they got on stage, Cyrus shared her story of performing “Nothing Else Matters” at the Glastonbury festival before her divorce was announced publicly.

When my dad died 20 years ago, I listened to this song over and over again. I remember playing this song with my best friend the night my father passed.

Every time I try to play this song, I struggle to hold back my tears when singing these verses:

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters

But maybe that’s just me. Either way, I hope you enjoy this heartwarming collaboration of Metallica and Miley Cyrus.
