Reminder: You are more than your Wounds.

You crawled,

You walked.

You ran

and then

you stumbled.

You fell, got hurt

You were in pain.

You cried and bawled,
You stood up
Started again.

You crawled
You walked
You ran
You stumbled
and fell
You cried and bawled;

You didn’t stop
Kept starting over and over again.

And that’s why,
You’re not where you started from
You’ve come a long way, my friend
It may not seem so right now
But it’s true.

You are more than your pain
Your misery and struggles.

More than what your mind tells you.

Look back and see how far you’ve traveled—the journey you’ve taken and the milestones achieved. With all the pain and hurt, you still didn’t stop and found more and more ways to carry on.
Yes, some worked and some did not.
Yet, you didn’t stop.

You may be tired, broken a bit, and a little damaged from within.

But you are more than this.

Let your mind not fool you,
Into believing anything else, because it will,
And it should
Because it’s scared—for itself and you.
Yet, remember you are more than what you couldn’t do,
You are much more than what they told you,
What they said you were not.

Look back and see those crumbs of efforts and small victories that lie on your path.
Those that remind you that you are so much more than what you thought.

Think of all the times you were so close to giving up,
Yet you picked yourself up and moved ahead.
Yes, a little broken or damaged from within
Yet, stronger than what you thought,
With a tiny light shining within.

That kept showing you one way after another,
Kept you going
Made you stronger.

So don’t let your mind fool you into believing anything else,
Let no one change this truth for you.
You are more than your wounds
Your anguish and your pain

You, my dear,
Are more
So much more.
