11 of my Favourite Fall Rituals.

Fall is one of my favourite seasons.

The air gets cooler, holiday decorations make their rounds, and it’s the beginning of festive parties and get-togethers with family and friends. If you’re anything like me, your Halloween decorations are out the day it’s officially autumn. You’ve made plans to visit the pumpkin patch, and the excitement of delicious meals with those we love (or like) is stirring.

I’ve always had a fascination with the spirit world and the mysticism of vampires and witches. Therefore, to be surrounded by explicit, eerie decor brings out the giddiness within me. And as the night hours creep sooner into the day, the lure to get cozy in sweats and to read a delightful book while sipping on a cup of tea strengthens.

I have, over the years, created somewhat of a fall ritual. If you’re anything like me, I’m sure your list is like mine. Please share your fall rituals that I have not listed here, because I would love to hear about them.

I implore you to give some of these a try if you haven’t already:

>> If you like creamer in your coffee, start the morning with your favorite brew mixed with a fall-inspired creamer like pumpkin spice or peppermint.

>> Throw on that cozy sweater and those nonmatching cozy socks.

>> Light that buttery soft candle to enhance the olfactory and visual ambiance.

>> Play some light, festive music in the background to help set the mood.

>> Drink that yummy, warm cup of tea while bundled under a soft, cozy blanket.

>> If it’s cold enough, turn that fireplace on. Nothing sets the mood as assuredly as a fire burning in the fireplace.

>> Read that book you’ve been dying to read.

>> Write in your journal.

>> Enjoy a delicious bowl of soup while watching a Halloween movie (usually kid appropriate in my household).

>> Sit next to an open window and breathe in the cool, crisp fall air.

>> And nothing says you can’t enjoy most of these activities without a good friend or significant other.

So, enjoy this time of year and all it offers. Complete the fall rituals that make you feel alive, cozy, and happy. Let’s share with each other all that makes us happy during this autumn season.
