A Sweet & Gentle Reminder for anyone who is Not Okay.

We are in the middle of a pandemic. It is the dead of winter. Most of us are not okay. And that’s okay.

Like almost everything in life, this won’t last forever. Spring and sunshine are headed our way.

If you’re like me, you look to springtime as a time of rebirth and renewal. So, what do we do until then? We hang on and get comfortable with not being okay. We focus on our goals and wishes and dreams.

Let’s use this time to reflect on ourselves and our lives. Let’s work on the things we want to improve. Let’s purge our closets, houses, and minds.  Let’s tackle those projects we’ve been avoiding. Imagine how wonderful it will feel to get those things checked off your to-do list.

On the days when you’re really struggling, be gentle with yourself. Be kind. Treat yourself like you would one of your favorite friends. Read a favorite book or watch a movie you love. Cook a comforting meal. Take a nap. Check in on your friends and family who also might be struggling.

It’s much easier to get through the rough days together than it is to do it alone.

Just please hang on. Spring will be here in 40 days.
