Dark waters and barely afloat.
You a friend swim by and mock me.
Wreckage drifting in the dark.
Murky blue like your ghost eyes.
Pale now a cold grip brings back the the memory of you and the waves crash.
Waves crash.
In the middle of a vast ocean, I hold on.
Cast aside.
You watch me flounder yet, still floating.
Here I learn to swim.
Here I find breath and take rest.
Here I learn to let go and find refuge, a distant shore. The love I have is the love that resides deep inside.
Letting go I find still waters and solid ground.
A heart beats and fire burns.
Returning to life a stillness softens and the morning light caresses and holds me.
This is love.
