Bonus mindful traveling tip: I almost never get a phone plan, to get a needed break from using/checking phone, but of course can still use it when on wifi for calls, Google Maps, texting, social/work. ~ Waylon

“There’s a power to traveling I always appreciate. It gets me out of my rut of daily life. I wanted to touch on a few practices that I think are helpful. When we travel, those fresh practices become illuminated—if we let them. And: how can we be helpful when we travel?” ~ Waylon Lewis

Your Mindful Monday Video:

  1. Pause and appreciate your meals. Be present.
  2. Support local shops and businesses rather than big chains or box retailers.
  3. Be conscious of your transportation.
  4. Don’t let Instagram/social media ruin your travel.

“Number One: When I travel, I suddenly go from being a bit discursive and just eating quickly and whatever I want, whenever I want, to being choosy about where I eat—because I want to enjoy the new restaurants, the new food, or my favorite places, or discover new things…and I wanna make sure I have an appetite for it. So there’s an attitude of appreciation.” ~ Waylon Lewis

“That’s the nice thing about Europe: you can really travel by train. Of course, it may take two or three days to get to Scotland or southern Spain, but traveling isn’t just relocating, is it?”
