5 Things that Helped me Heal.

{*Did you know you can write on Elephant? Here’s how—big changes: How to Write & Make Money or at least Be of Benefit on Elephant. ~ Waylon}

For almost six months, I have been undergoing a huge transformation on my mind, body, and soul.

While I have accomplished feeding my mind with knowledge, whipping my body into shape, and feeling the most I’ve ever felt in the depths of my soul spiritually, I know there’s more.

Here’s a short list of things that have helped me over the last few months to heal.

1. Disconnect and unplug. Getting away from my devices, apps, screen time, and anything electrical. Grounding myself outside, meditating, going for a nature walk, reading a book, and so on. Filling my day up with anything but electrical devices.

2. Cut out as many addictions as possible. One, two, three, all of them…allowing myself to feel the freedom from needing anything outside my body and connecting within. Absorbing the energy from other mindful activities and even nature may be revitalizing and healing.

3. Creating a short list of positive affirmations and things I’m grateful for. My affirmations can be something I already am or something I aspire to be. I show gratitude to myself, god, my partner, family, friends, or anything I’d like. Throughout the day, I find conviction within myself and speak this list out loud whenever I can find a moment to be alone and focused. In the mirror, the car, or even on a walk.

4. Forgiving myself and anyone else in my life for anything I feel guilt, anger, hatred, sadness, madness, or any hardship at all for. I can forgive myself for not keeping a promise to myself or someone else, forgive my friend for a hurtful thing they said, my partner for not remembering dinner, a serious emotional injury, a betrayal, or even something from ages ago. Do it, and mean it. It makes me feel much better.

5. Love myself. Taking an hour or two, or the whole day if I want to, for self-care. Whatever self-care looks like to me that particular day. What’s needed? A long bubble bath, a deep tissue massage, an exotic meal, a delicious dessert, or maybe even a quick road trip to a museum, a beach, hot springs, a forest, or a special place that I hold dear. Making every second count and being present with myself. Loving myself with all the love I can possibly send inward!

“As my sufferings mounted I soon realized that there were two ways in which I could respond to my situation — either to react with bitterness or seek to transform the suffering into a creative force. I decided to follow the latter course.” ~ Martin Luther King Jr.

Onward and upward through some inward love.

I hope y’all can do the same. Be excellent to yourselves, and to each other.
