3 Signs Your Inner Critic Is At Work (and How to Silence it)

This week, I received a lesson in what it means to walk the “spiritual” path.

I was hosting an online workshop on the Inner Critic when I had an inclination to share it in a very specific Facebook-group.

Now, this is where my mind went into a spin.

“NOOOO! I can’t do that. That’s icky. People will just think I’m trying to sell them something or “convince them” of something”.

(Well, I am selling something – I do run a business – but it’s just an invitation to be in my energy. And I don’t wanna convince anyone of anything).

What I’ve noticed in the past, is that it can quickly spiral downward.

So today, I wanted to share 3 signs to help you stop (and step out of) that spiral:

Here are 3 tell tale signs that your inner critic has been triggered:

Your inner dialogue is “outwardly” focused.  It’s a “people will think…” – kinda phrasing.

Your body feels heavy and “drained” (almost “stuck” to the ground).

You feel tired and/or tense (especially notice your stomach and breath.)

You can use your breath (and your body) to “feel” and breathe your way through.
Keep your focus on the sensations in your body. And keep doing that till you feel some relief.

Conclusion:

You teach what you need to learn.
As anyone exploring the inner realms will tell you – sometimes you encounter heavy s***.

And that’s how it’s suppose to be.

How else are we going to be of service to life, to encounter and LIVE  it in its wholeness?

How will we embody wholeness if we are not willing to embrace ALL experiences?

That means sitting with the tough s***, too.
