The little boy who stunned me

Photo by Allan Mas on Pexels.

I was touched by the experience I had today. Earlier when I was out of the house to buy food, near the stall where I bought food, there was a kindergarten.

There were a lot of people gathered there, there are many children were sitting around. It seems that the kindergarten is holding an event today.

I only caught a glimpse of the crowd and turned my gaze back to buy some food. When I was buying food suddenly all of those children, teacher and parents walked out of their school.

Not far from them, I watched curiously, what they wanted to do. What makes me stunned, touched and speechless is suddenly one of that kindergarten children approached me. He was accompanied by a teacher.

He is about 5 or 6 years old. His face looked embarrassed and a little nervous. In his hands he holds a plastic filled with food. He approached me slowly nervously and his teacher stood behind him cheering him on.

He didn’t say anything, only his hand was thrust at me. I smiled sweetly as I took the plastic from his hand while saying thank you and his teacher just stared at me with a smile.

After giving me the plastic, he immediately ran away from me and went back to playing with his friends.

I talked to his teacher, it turned out that today is “sharing day”. They teach children to share with those around them. While chatting with the teacher, I glanced at that boy. He had returned to playing with his friends cheerfully.

Maybe for others it’s a normal thing, but for me it’s a small thing even though now it may not be important for that boy, but I’m sure this good thing will be etched in his memory.

For some reason when he came to me and the way he gave me the plastic, it touched me, made me speechless. He might never remember me, because I was just passing by.

But I’m sure the little good things he does, later when he is grow up, he will remember those little things even though later he will act in a different way but the point is still the same.

It’s just plastic stuffed with food, nothing much. But the way he gave it to me, the way his school taught him, really impressed me.

I don’t know why I was moved to write this, but to me, this little thing means a lot. Little things like this can make a big difference.

Could it be because he’s innocent? Maybe because he is still a child so his heart is still pure?

I don’t know the reason, it’s just… that boy’s gestures, touch my heart
